ALF x Markham INDY

The Anthony Lue Foundation is heading to the Inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham!

Last year was the revival of Day at the Races in Toronto! For many (disabled or not) the Indy is an opportunity to see some of the fastest machines on the planet rip around a race track or road course. Then there are experiences like “Day at the Races!” Sam Schmidt a previous Indy car driver and Team owner hosted these type of curated events across the states and here at the Toronto Indy. That is where ALF was first exposed to race cars and life long friendships were made.

Fast forward a couple of years and Day at the Races Toronto was no longer happening. The main sponsor had fallen off and there was a huge void at the Indy, it just didn’t feel the same. One thing that ALF as a foundation will do, is to try and fill those voids, create community and bring together people in similar situations.

After a few phone calls, some emails and amazing support from the Ontario Honda Dealers and Green Savoree Racing Promotions, “Day at the Races” hosted by the Anthony Lue Foundation was back up and running! It was an amazing day at the Toronto Indy where new friendships and memories were made. For some it was their first time at the Indy and the overall Day at the Races experience was a hit.

Creating opportunities like Day at the Races and bringing together a segment of the community that is often forgotten about is one of the main reasons ALF exists. As the foundation grows, our hopes are that we can enrich and inspire everyone within and around the disabled community. Bringing collaboration and understanding of accessibility/disability to the forefront of everyones minds is another objective of the foundation.
